How to Strategically Disassemble a Suit Jacket

First you need your suit jacket.
Not all suit jackets will be the same to disassemble as mine. Use your brain and if some thing on yours is different just improvise.

Start by cutting off the sleeve by cutting around the sleeves outer seam that attaches it to the shoulder.

This seam

Once you've gone all the way around you can then then start cutting around the lining's seam, that will remove the sleeve completely.

Now go back to the shoulder and cut around the other side of the seam to remove the seam.

You can now take the shoulder pad out. You can keep this to make some thing with or you can just throw it away!

Now go back to the sleeve and pull the lining out so that the sleeve becomes inside out with its lining coming off of the wrist. Detach the two pieces from each other in the same manner you detached the sleeve from the shirt.

Now it's time to open up the sleeve. Cut out the seam (both sides, so the seam is completely detached from the sleeve)that runs from the arm pit to the wrist.

The sleeve should then look something like this. You can remove the buttons if you wish. I left them on.

Repeat the process on the other sleeve.

You can then start cutting out the lining by using your scissors and cutting along the edge seam that attaches the lining. There may be tricky "obstacles" to go around... but you'll figure it out!

You can then either un-do or cut off any bits of lining still left on the outer fabric.

You can then cut out and lace, buttons, collars, etc (any thing you don't want on your fabric). I would Highly suggest removing the collar.

You can take out all the seams in the two different fabrics if you wish but i found it to be a waist of time that left you with smaller pieces of fabric. I did not undo them but left them where they are.
Now you have a nice pile of fabric to use as you wish.

New Goat Pen

It seems like fall is leaving and winter is here. We've had snow but it all ends up melting!

We've been getting things ready for when the snow decides to stay. Yesterday we -my dad and I- built a goat pen attached the the back of the barn, with a door going into the stall.

My pasture is up in the back of our property, so we built the one by the barn so I don't have to walk the goats to the back through the snow, besides, goats don't like precipitation!

I think it will be really nice to have the run in, I'm very happy with it.

More Leaves

The snow melted!!! Fall is back!!!

All the leaves I had raked up for goat food (Remember?) became a little too old for eating. And I thought to my self... all these leaves! They can't just go to waist.... so I cleaned my goat's

stall - which was in desperate need of some attention - and used the old leaves -and some more that I raked up after I had my idea- and used them as bedding in the stall. It's nice and cozy, and FREE. I love leaves!!!

Sadie's First Snow!

Free Food for Goats

Sadie goes nuts over leaves. - she did this over and over as we through the leaves up into the air!!! It was hilarious. Almost human! almost!

We heard on the news that it was supposed to snow, -IN OCTOBER!!!- My first thought was -after the thought It's October!- was all the leaves! My sister, my mom and myself -and Sadie!- spent about an hour and a half raking up all the leaves for my goats. We put them into empty grain bags, trash bags, buckets and the wheel barrel. Hey if you've got goats and you've got leaves I would definitely suggest raking up all the leaves before they become no good. My goats love the leaves as much as the hay! Sadie LOVES leaves

My three girls are bred. Pipi's due date is March 5th, Tilly is March 10th, and Anica is March 15th. that'll be a busy bunch of days!!! They are all bred to Endurance, a very handsome-and stinky- buck. OH, If Pipi kids (gives birth) early they could possibly be born on a leap year.
Here's my plan: I'll keep one of Pipi's Does (that is if she has any!) Pipi has a good udder, even at her young age. If I'm able to get a doe from Larissa I'll probably sell Anica. It would be hard to give up Anica...

Sadie is half a year old!

Yes, this is the same puppy that came in to our family just this spring.
She is so beautiful, Yet... not all that well behaved! I'm working on agility and obedience training her. She needs it, she needs a job. Sadie is much too hyper to just be sitting around doing nothing.
Sadie is taller than Grasshopper, and about 50 pounds. She's huge... not a lap puppy any more!
I know, I know, I'm a little obsessed with pet birthdays! I can't help it, it's too fun! I'm only doing the half a year because it's her first half a year. I don't usually celebrate half birthdays for pets or for people!!!

Lila Mae's Birthday

Lila Mae is two years old. It doesn't seem possible. She's still so tiny. I think she will always be small. she is full grown.

Poor Lila actually has pneumonia on her birthday. She gets it every year, so did her mother, Thomasina. I feel bad that she got it on her birthday but I don't think she -being a cat- even knows about the birthday, so I'll cellibrate when she's better.

Miniature Agility Course

Here's a craft for your critter! Make this mini agility course for your mini friends. if you don't have a pet - bird, lizard, girble, etc - you can still make it for a stuffed animal. I think the pictures can give you a good enough idea of how to make them - I'm not in a tutorial mood - I could atleast tell you the matirials I used. i would also suggest using a hot glue gun. if you use different glue you'll be sitting there for a long time waiting for it to dry while you hold it in place.
Don't leave these in the cages with your little critters, only let them have them when you are there to supervise them. DOG WALK: 12 regular, 2 purple, and 1 green popsicle sticks and one toilet paper tube.

TRIANGLE: 2 orange, 2 yellow, and 5 regular popsicle sticks (one with the ends cut off)

TEETER: 3 red, 9 regular, and 2 one-inch popsicle sticks

JUMP: 2 blue and 5 regular popsicle sticksA-FRAME: 2 purple and 13 regular popsicle sticks WEAVE POLES: 5 tooth pics, 2 yellow popsicle sticks (none of my critters could fit in this, It's kind of small. If you are going to let your critter play with it, cut the sharp tips off.)

TUNNEL: A clean can with both ends open (either open it with a dull edge can opener or sand the edges you don't want you or your little critter to get cut on the sharp mettal).

HOOP: 2 regular and 1 yellow popsicle sticks, 2 straws (I cut a couple inches off of the bottom of mine) a foot of yarn, and a yogurt lid with the center cut out.

Teaching Sadie to "Kiss"

I just today taught Sadie to "Kiss". Here's how: first you'll want some treats. I prefer small treats (fingernail size) so that the puppy can eat it quickly and you can move on in your training. The treat has to be some thing that the puppy REALLY wants (with any training) so that she WANTS to do the trick to receive it. I tried this trick with one treat and Sadie completely lost interest, so I tried again with a different treat and she did it just fine.

OK, once you have you're treats ready get your puppy. Do a couple basic tricks that your pup all ready knows. once she's concentrating put a treat on your lips, - not in your mouth, just being held there by your lips, you want it sticking out enough for the puppy to grab- and say the command "kiss" and let the puppy know that she can have the treat. do it over and over until you can do it with out the treat there. When I say "Kiss" to Sadie she nudges my lips, your pup can learn to do it too. not all puppies will just nudge though, your puppy may lick you to death when you say kiss! If your pup is a biter i would recommend NOT doing this trick until she stops the biting, I don't want any face injuries. this was a really easy trick for Sadie to learn, it wont be the same with every puppy, be patient. Don't do one thing for too long either, puppies don't have a very long concentration span, do this trick, maybe ten times, then play a game with her for a while. keep it interesting for your puppy.

goat grain : amount?

I've been doing some research for a book I'm writing on goats. I'm having trouble finding how much grain to feed a goat depending on it's size. all I can find is feeding the different breeds and feeding babies by it's size.
This has got me wondering how many people are searching for this. well i still haven't found the answer to my question, but I figured i could tell you all how much to feed the Nigerian Dwarves. I feed my goats 2 cups of pellet grain once a day. plus some supplements.
I have a two cup scoop. so you'd think that I'd feed my goats 3 scoops of grain right? Well, sort of. If my girls have been out side all day, eating plenty of grass, I only give them two and a half scoops (five cups as opposed to six). I feel that they don't need all that grain when they are not pregnant or producing milk- . All they do all day is eat and sleep! If they've been inside all day because of rain - or something of that sort - I give them the full 3 scoops because they haven't had grass and all that.
I will be feeding the 3 scoops every day when they are bred.
I thought this might help. If you have goats any way!

I know this was a while ago, and I haven't posted for a while... I'm sorry all.

My goats were in the fourth of July parade here in our tiny little town. i got three bandannas - a red one, a white one, and a blue one - they each got to wear one.

They all just Monday got shaved, their fir is really long and they need it shorter in the summer.

I'll put pics of that on here in a couple days. I'm on the couch with Mono so I have plenty of time for blogging- one of my favorite hobbies!

Sea Shell Hair Clip

Here's a great way to show off the shells you get from the beach!!! you can either glue the shell on to the hair clip and then attache the wire, or you could wrap the wire all around the shell and then glue the whole thing to the clip. I would suggest using a hot glue gun...... for every thing!!! That's my favorite form of glue. It dries so quickly so you don't have to sit there holding it, is doesn't run or drip so you can put a giant blob of it on and know it will hold, and it's just superrr easy to use!!! I love it!

With this craft use allot of glue, As the shell will easily fall off while it's bobbing around on top of your head!

We made this banner for my brother's graduation party. It's simple, quick, and easy. no finished edges!!!
You will need:
*2 or 3 different materials that coordinate with each other. examples: old curtains, sheets, clothing, etc.
*Sewing machine
*Scissors Cut out a hole bunch of triangles all the same size using the fabrics you've chosen.

Pic out two triangle you want together.

Cut off two inches off the top of the triangle you want over the other. Lay it over the triangle you want on bottom, the two top edges together. sew all the way around the top triangle.

Once you get the amount of triangles you want sewn together(we used 7) lay them out in the order you want them to hang.

Cut off the edge of what ever your recycling, we used old curtains so the edge is fairly thick.

Use the strip you cut off to sew all your triangles to. sew the top side of each triangle in a row to the strip of fabric. When your banner is done you can hang it where ever you'd like.

When sewing the triangles together use different stitches to give it a funky look! i enjoyed seeing what all my stitches looked like, and messing around with my machine.

Use what ever colored thread you want.

I'm riding again!!!!!
I feel so "at home" on a horse. I know I've rode Levi some, but this is different. This was my first lesson with a riding instructor since a year ago. I miss my lessons in New York.
This was allot of fun, the instructor (Tom) was very thorough. I like that. Even if I already knew how to and even TO do it, I liked him explaining it.
This horses name is Zip. I really liked him, he's sweet. Zip isn't his full name, I don't remember the hole name.
Look at that beautiful view! Sadly I didn't notice it when I was there. If I go back I'll have to pay attention to it. the hole place is beautiful actually.

Fairies

I love fairies. they have a little enchanting delicacy to them. I picture them as young and gentle, but playful and creative. fairies are quite a relaxing thing to make. there are so many different ways to make them all unique. change the wings, the hair, shoes, jewelery, add a hat, a little bow, then there's that enchanting, beautiful, little girl face, there's no need of a mouth, or nose, not even eyes and yet there's still an expression. I love fairies. I made this fairy out of a hand made pompom, they work better than store bought, for this at least.

I've gone fairy crazy. I just keep making fairies!!!

I exspecialy like this one... no... I like them all, I made more than just the two, but these were my favorite.

Little shoes

Make these little shoes for you dolls. Trace your dolls feet onto foam (if your doll has toes round the top so it's not bumpy) cut out each foot onto 2 pieces of foam. Find a fabric you like and cut it a little over the length and the width to go over the top of of your dolls foot. cut 2 the same. using a hot glue gun glue the ends of the strip and glue it between the 2 pieces of foam and glue the 2 pieces together. add a piece of either the same fabric or elastic cording to the back so that the dolls foot doesn't fall out. Use your imagination and create flip flops with beading wire or whatever your creative mind comes up with!

To make your self a journal you will need
*A large drawing pad with a card board back (pull off the cover and pull out all the pages and stack them up)
*Scissors
* A Long Reach stapler
*Some thing to decorate the cover

First fold the pad of paper and crease the edges.

Unfold it, Staple in five spots along the crease

Refold and push the edges again. Use the scissors to cut the edge of the paper if the paper sticks out past the cardboard.

Decorate the cover in any way that suits you best. You could use fabric, markers, paints, or scrap booking materials.

This bag I made for my American girl dolls and its made by simply taking a empty floss container and popping the plastic inner piece out then I decorated the container. you can paint it or cover it with paper I also put rhinestones or rubber stamps on it. This pacific one has paper hole punch shapes on it, these are lizards. You can put all your dolls little trinkets in it.

I rode a mustang today!!!!!!! I'm so excited, I haven't rode since the beginning of June-before we moved. I learned so much in the short time I rode. A neighbor lets me clean her stalls and today I rode her horse. I'll be riding more too, I'm going to learn so so much.

I rode with the saddle, bare back, with the rains, and being led-I like bare back. when I rode bare back my sister rode for a short while. shes never even been on a horse before. I've taken many lessons and can trot ,and canter up hill ,and back up well but nothing I was taught was this . I'm so happy It's all I can think of.

Levi ( the horse I rode. also My birds name) is a very smart very trained horse so I had to learn about him too.

Mabey a vole

This is Mabey, a vole my cat caught in our yard.

At first we were shure she would die, she wasn't moving much at all. Within two or three hours Mabey started walking around and eating grass.

It was raining all day so we waited till the next day to set her free.

I named her from a mole in a book called "Mabey a Mole."

Tutorial: Fingerless Gloves

These fingerless gloves are so, so easy to make. All you need is a pair of socks or tights (you may want to use tight that are for someone smaller than you so they wont slide off.) Here's how.

Cut the sock just above the heel.

Find where you want your thumb and cut a slit just under the top band. do the same on both socks and you have a set of fingerless gloves.

With the tights the gloves will, or can go to the elbows or higher.

cut off the foot just above the heel (like with the socks.)
Measure with your arm how long you want them and cut again. Next cut the thumb hole down by the ankle and, Walla! another set.

No glue or sewing needed.

1 Removing ticks
2 Removing permanent ink (only on some surfaces and if it hasn't been there for to long.)
3 Cleaning used jewelry from yard sales
4 Cleaning out cuts ( I would recomend peroxide. That doesn't sting )

Not to mention cleaning hands.

hand feeding sea gulls

We went to the beach today, and around the end of the day I decided I was going to hand feed the sea gulls. . . Well I didn't, but I tried for about an hour. After I tried with my hands I tried with my toes. They came within inches of me, some of their wings hit me. I said to mom, "when you can feel the beat of their wings they're a little close".

I never succeeded but I enjoyed myself, it was fun.

My kitten Lila Mae has grown up good and strong, to be a beautiful cat.
now she has 3 sisters named Lexi, Molly, and Hook and a brother named mouse trap. They are very cute and playful. These kittens where born the day after Easter. Lila Mae loves having siblings, she play with them and grooms them, when they go I will miss them.

My Cockatiel Zack loves a veriety of food, different colors, textures,and tastes. Here is a list of food you can and can't feed your cockatiel.
To give your bird fruits and vegies the need to be peeled, washed, and rinsed several times. If they are mushy, have brown spots, or discolored the bird should not be given them. The cockatiels can have;

* lettuce (as an occasional treat)
* cooked yams
* apples
* noncoocked asparagus
* apricots
* beets
* bananas
* broccoli
* berries
* brussle sprouts
* cantaloupe
* carrots
* cherries
* fresh corn
* honeydew melon
* fresh peas
* kiwi
* parsly
* catgrass
* mango
* pumpkin
* oranges
* red or green sweet peppers
* papaya
* turnips (greens)
* peaches
* yellow squash
* pears
* zucchini
* pineapple
* cucumbers (occasionaly)
* plums
* celery (occasionaly)
* mashed potatoes (with nothing added)
veggies can be lightly steamed.

They can also eat cooked pasta, cooked rice, whole wheat toast, and cooked cereals.
They can have certain dry cereals = shredded wheat, grape nuts, rice crispies, and plain cheerios. Cereals should be given only once in a while. Only 1 or 2 pieces at a time.
unsalted and unbuttered popcorn and animal crackers can be given as treats once in a while.
Your bird can also can have well cooked chicken( my bird realy likes it), well cooked turkey, fish, lean meats,cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs (the eggs can't have any salt or pepper).

DON'T give them;

* shell fish
* sugar
* no canned veggies
* tabacco
* greasy foods
* salt
* fruit seeds or pitts
* chocolate
* milk
* coffee or tea
* rhubarb
* alcohol
* leaves or stems from potatoes
* no moldy foods
* tomato
* egg plant
* bean plant
* avocadoes

My cockatiel realy likes oatmeal, cheerios, and lettuce, I would recommend these.
Lettuce, grapes, and strawberries are all ok but they spoil fast so don't leave them in the cage for very long.

This is my kitten, her mother stopped caring for her and we (my mom and I) dropper fed her until she could eat food. We were up every night feeding her for the longest time. Her name is Lila Mae and she is ten weeks old but she looks a lot younger than she is because she lost a lot of weight when her mother stopped feeding her, but she's catching up. She's very playful and we all love her, she cuddles with us at night. In the top picture she is sleeping with our dog Grasshopper, and yes, that is her name. The picture below we just took today and she is actually sleeping in the food dish. Yes, she does sleep a lot.

This cut ban I made by decorating a hot chocolate or ovaltine container with pink paper then I put a hole with a knife a little bigger than a quarter in the top. The legs are mini paper cups cut to the rite size and shape to fit the container the nose is a soda cap and the ears are two different papers

now you can make one

If you'er looking for a treat for your gerbil or hamster give them dry pasta my gerbil loves dry pasta, macaroni, and egg noodles. Only give them to your gerbil like three times a week because to many will make them sick. You should feed your gerbil a variety of foods.

Thank you Ms. Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for letting me be a part of Pink Saturday. I am very excited. For my first Pink Saturday I have a couple of piggies to show you. They are after all, pink. My first piggy is one I got for Christmas a few years ago, you put the money in his mouth and it travels down that zig-zaggy path to his stomach. Isn't he cute?

The next piggy I have to show you is one I made. If you check back here in a couple of days, I will post directions on how to make one.

tutorial: journal out of junior caramels box

This journal is so easy to make. You can make one following these simple instructions. You start with a junior caramels box (or other similar sized box) and cut off three of the thinner edges to make it like a book shape.

Then take a little stack of regular white lined paper and lay the box open on the paper. Make sure you lay the box in the direction I have it in the photo so the lines in your journal go in the correct direction. Then trace with a pencil around the box. Next take the box off the paper and cut on the line you drew (make sure you hold paper with the edges lined up as you cut).

After you do that, fold the paper in half the long way. Once you've done this hold it up to the box be sure the edges are flat and staple them together. there you've made your self a journal

18" doll jewelry box

I made this cute little box for my18" doll out of a cream cheese box. Isn't it cute? I painted the box and decorated it with craft rhinestones. I think your doll would like one too.

Tutorial:Hair clips

These are hair clips my mom and I came up and with for me and a bunch of my friends to make. You start by taking the hair clip, (we used two different kinds, hair clips and barrettes).
Cover the top of the barrette with glue and take a not to heavy or thick yarn and tightly rap it around the clip.

After you've done that there are many different things you can do with it, you can just wear it how it is, or you can decorate it with all sorts of things. We put buttons, wooden shapes, and foam shapes on them. If you use the foam shapes I would suggest not using the sticky back ones if the sticky part will be touching your hair because the sticky part gets stuck in your hair.

To make the hair clip ones cover the top of the clip with glue, and take a large foam shape and glue it on.
Then glue other little foam shapes on the big one (you can use sticky back ones for these if you want but only for the little ones) you can also use sticky back letters and write your name.

Doll hat for 18" doll

This is a hat I came up with to make for my doll, here's how. I started with a round piece of cardboard then I got a cover to a candy tin and traced it in the middle of the cardboard then with a knife I cut out the circle. After that I placed the candy tin cover inside the hole and secured it there with a hot glue gun. Then I placed the hat on a sheet of brown construction paper and traced the right size and cut it out then I made a hole in it like with the cardboard and the same size then glued it to the cardboard. Then I cut out from the same paper, two pieces the correct size to cover the edge and top of the cover, and glued them in place.

Tutorial: How to Make a Bathing Suit for an 18" doll from a sock

I came up with an idea on how to make a bathing suit for my doll, I thought I would share it with you.

I started with a regular sock, if you want you can use one with a print. Then you lay the sock on the doll with the toe of the sock resting at the top of her thigh.Cut the sock at the neck level.

Then with a permanent marker, draw a line to mark the spots for her legs, but be sure to leave the spot for in between her legs wide enough . Then cut the leg holes.

Next draw a line to mark the spots for her arms and neck. Be sure when you draw the top line (the neck line), that you draw it to the side edge of the sock and not to the top edge, then cut on that line. Also cut on the little curved lines to create the arm holes. After you do that you have a bathing suit.

Then, if you want to make a headband and a towel with the pieces which are left over from the sock, here's how. Take the rim of the sock and cut it off for a head band.

Then take the left over piece that would normally rap around the ankle and cut it so it is no longer in a loop to make a towel.
Now you have a whole beach set.
